Grills on, shoes off, summer has it’s own set of rules. I’m sure Deschutes paid handsomely for that. But, that isn’t the whole story, it’s the inspiration found ‘round the web that makes it truly interesting and fun. A blog I regularly frequent, AnotherPintPlease had a post about Grilled & Smoked Apples stuffed with Sausage and Sage. Wow, that sounded glorious. Quick write down a list of the thing I don’t have at home, stop by Trader Joe’s and begin the quest.
I use the word quest on purpose, since this was all my doing, the wife didn’t have a hand in the mix. She was completely oblivious to the rolling of the dice I was foisting upon her. Not only that, she was gone for the day and wouldn’t be home until dinner was complete, whereby she would have the choice of but to consume this creation or go hungry. But never has anotherpintplease let me down on any recipe or recommendation, so I was feeling pretty smug.
After the prep work, placed it on the grill, and pow! what a success!
but then I had these going the night before, so I knew we would be positioned for another good roll.
Yum and yum.
