Water in the Desert

Made a trip to Horseshoe Dam, we've had enough snow this year (at least those north of us) that the rivers are flowing. Horseshoe has a unique feature, a path that leads under the spillway. Great fun, lots of noise.

Flowing quite well I'd say.  That's walking up to the spillway.  Entered at camera left, took the following:

Yep, lots of noise, thundering actually.  Mist and a continuous swirling breeze.

A little backlit afternoon goodness. Maybe the Niagara of the west?

Working towards a 2010 PaD, liked it bunches.  Pattern, curve, glistening water, has quite a few compositional elements.

But, colors and reflection make this one my choice.  It goes to the project.  Fun afternoon.  100 miles round-trip from the house, 10 miles of rattling washboard gravel road, and drive-by of Cave Creek Coffee.  Too bad I didn't stop.
