2010 PaD

Photo a day, learn new techniques, learn to see what the camera sees.  Hopefully this exercise makes a better photog out of me.  It still is about composition, because any camera can make good photos.

It's the vision that makes great images.  Even with that said, there are some techniques that make better photos, in particular portraits.  Have picked up some lighting tips and tried out some things.  For instance, I always was taught to have your subject looking into the sun.  That's tough to do as a subject and not squint.  However, if you have some reflector or flash or something (think big dude in a white shirt) you can get some nice highlight on the hair and good shadows on the face.  Here's two, one as is, and one with me standing one footed trying to balance the silver window shade from my car to put some light on Malissa's face.  I really need Karis to take a snap of me doing the contortions - that would have been funny!
